Fun Fall Décor You can Make at Home

I have to confess, I’m not an extreme decorator. I love the seasons, the special holidays…I even love crafts! My problem? I rarely have time or I lack the energy for anything too terribly elaborate, especially during any kind of holiday season.  Read more...

My Guilt Because I Didn't Adopt

We are talking about adoption this month on allmomdoes.  I LOVE children, obviously I have a ton of them!  If I could take every single homeless child off of the streets I would.  I just can’t bear to think of a child without a Mommy and Daddy and a loving home. Read more...

The Wonder of Fall Scavenger Hunt

As the chill in the nighttime air is growing cooler and the leaves begin to fall, without a doubt we can know that the Fall season is upon us. It’s time to pull out just one more cuddly blanket and think about soup and bread for easy dinner’s on busy nights. The rain has begun to refresh the air after a wonderful and oh so pleasant Summer. But it won’t be long before the kids will start to become antsy and long to be out of doors as with the warmer weather. So it’s time to get out those ol rubber boots and go exploring and scavenger hunting. Children are full of wonder! The drizzle doesn’t deter them from an adventure! Read more...

From Down and Dirty to Delirious and Dancing

On this week of “Refreshing” I’ve been praying a lot about what it means to me to be refreshed. Truly refreshed! So I thought of how I love to take loooong hot baths, or go for looong walks. I love to go on Women’s Retreats and I love to go out to dinner with my husband….when we can afford it. I also LOVE to cook and garden, so you can see I have lots of “things” I do to be refreshed in my day to day life. Read more...

Conquering Our Fear of Social Media

Up until a little over 3 years ago, I had a huge fear of Social Media. I guess you could say that I was a little old fashioned. Now old fashioned isn’t bad, but I guess it depends on just how far back in time you want to go. At some point we are put into a position to choose whether we want to launch into the future with the rest of the world or stay stuck in a wonderful memory of things gone by. I didn’t understand this silly need to post every little thing one was doing at home, on the road..in the bathroom…well you get the picture! Read more...

Remember, You'll Always Be Mom

I’ve been so excited this week for all the kids to go back to school. No, not because I want to get rid of them, I just know they are ready. Ready to get back into the swing of things..sports, friends, clubs. Dare I say...school work! All three of my kids are in new schools this year. My son is going off to college and I can’t tell you how many people have asked me how I’m feeling about that. There’s something about letting go of our kids, letting them be all that God created them to be..on their own. Something that a Mom's heart shouts with a joy cry…he’s a man now. It doesn’t happen over night you know, there are little milestones along the way. Then you reach a point when it’s just time. Time to say goodbye. Not forever, but to let them go and make their own way. Read more...

Recipe: Homemade Pizza

I used to always think that there was some sort of secret mystery to making anything that required homemade bread dough. I was so intimidated until the day I had nothing in the house but the most basic of ingredients: Read more...

Hi, My Name is Shari and I have Teenagers

At my house I have 13 and 15 year old daughters and a son that just turned 18. Thank goodness he has moved on out of puberty because who ever said boys were easy and girls were harder didn’t have my son! I’ve been through 7 teen puberties! Yes, you read that right... 7! Here are some things I've learned along the way. Read more...

Creating Joy

Last night I texted all 7 of my kids. Oh ya, I’m pretty high tech. I don’t know why but I had come to a blank when trying to think up something to post about! Now if you know me, I like to chat it up so it seemed so crazy that I just couldn’t think! I asked my kids to help me and send me a quick answer to this question: Only a couple of kids answered back. I wondered why..it seemed like a simple question. Then I thought..I’m such a nut in my everyday life, how could anyone pin point just ONE thing I’ve done… Crazy and ridiculous is just part of who I am! I love to create my own kind of joy! Yep God and I can think up some pretty crazy things to do sometimes. Life can just be so hard, but God has given me a joy that goes beyond the everyday. Let’s just say that it spills over in some pretty unusual ways…like maybe the time…. Read more...
