Food Trucks For A Great Cause

Chocolate Hazlenut Spread, a warm handmade crepe and fresh strawberries is most likely where I’ll begin at Crisp Creperie

No wait.

Maybe a Hawaiian island favorite from Sam Choy Poke – because that truck is new this year.

No wait.

DID YOU HEAR FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS: Street Treats is a truck where you get to build your own Ice Cream sandwich.

You pick your cookie from a host of choices (Oatmeal! Molasses!) and then choose your homemade ice cream flavor (Vanilla bean! Toasted coconut!) and perhaps squeal like a small child as they hand it to you. This is like the ice-cream van for grownups. We intererviewed Diane, the owner, check it out.

The Mobile Food Fight for Hunger was the genius idea of my friend Kristen. She said the idea came one day before lunch when she was wondering how she could combine her love of Food Trucks with her passion for Social Justice.

Thus, the Mobile Food Fight For Hunger event was born:  Ten of the most popular food trucks in Seattle -  joining World Concern to fight global hunger this summer.

Ten percent of all proceeds from the event will help fight hunger through World Concern’s sustainable agricultural programs, creating lasting solutions in Africa, Asia, and Haiti.

What: Food trucks and support a great cause

When: Sunday, August 31st from 11-4 p.m.

Where: World Concern headquarters:19303 Fremont Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133

I’ll see you there, most likely hoping for a bite of what you’ve got.
