We all have disappointments, and I’ve had a lot this year just like any other year. I think in the past, yeah in the past year, I lost a good friend of mine to cancer. I got to know him through our band and he came to know our music. He lived where I lived, and he went to the church I was worship pastor at and we became close friends quickly.
I got to see him surrender his life to Christ in a pure, honest way, a beautiful way. Within a year of being diagnosed, the cancer took his life, and yet I see him celebrated. His wife cuts my hair, cuts my kids hair, so I get to go over there and we’re super close to their family. Those are things that you are not expecting, and you are praying against. And when they don’t get answered like you thought, then it can strengthen you, and it can also, it’s a challenge. Because why? Mike was an amazing dad, an amazing husband, an amazing friend and um very hard. I’m grateful for the time we had, and I’m grateful on how his wife has trusted the Lord throughout this, and led her kids to trust in God throughout it. It’s been amazing and beautiful all at the same time.
