Two more Republican Senators have come out against the GOP healthcare bill, effectively killing it for the time being. Jerry Moran of Kansas and Mike Lee of Utah both came out against the plan.
Seattle police officers will now be required to wear body cameras, mayor Ed Murray announced yesterday. Starting next week, bike patrol officers in the West Precinct will be outfitted with cameras that record both audio and video. Over the next couple of months all police officers will have the cameras. Mayor Murray said, “This level of accountability is good for both officers and the public, and will help build trust in a time where the community is hurting.”
Two hundred soldiers returned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord yesterday after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan and Iraq. These soldiers returning has been a part of the Civil War, World War II, Korean War and the War on Terrorism. “It’s unreal,” Chittim said after meeting his youngest daughter for the first time. “It’s hard to imagine. You see them on FaceTime and things like that, but actually seeing them in person… it’s overwhelming.”
