A massive explosion rocked a highly secure diplomatic area of Kabul this morning, taking the lives of 80 people and wounding as many as 350, an attack that left a scene of mayhem and destruction. The target of the attack — which was a suicide car bombing — is not immediately known. It was one of the worst attacks Kabul has seen since the end of 2014.
If you’re a bargain hunter, this is the event you’ve been waiting for. The annual Historic National Road Yard Sale kicks off today, with people hawking their things along 800 miles of U.S. 40 from Baltimore to St. Louis. In addition to all the clothes, toys, antiques, furniture, collectibles and other assorted knickknacks that will be for sale, expect a lot of yummy food along the route.
A delivery truck carrying medical supplies crashed on State Route 97, near Leavenworth and spilled part of its load into Peshastin Creek – which feeds into the river. Watch out for potentially dangerous medical supplies floating in Wenatchee River. KOMO
If you are planning to go to Mt. Rainier on State Route 410 it’s going to take longer. Emergency repairs are going on about five miles west of Crystal Mountain Gate. It will be down to one lane for about six weeks while crews make slope repairs including removing rocks and trees.
