My 5 year old always teaches me things. The other night we were having a particularly difficult time because we had all been sick and I just couldn’t get my act together to get dinner on the table. I was carrying on about how we just don’t have anything to eat and it’s JUST SO HARD!
<Enter my 5 year old>
‘Mom, we have food right there,’ he says pointing to the cupboard. ‘And, there,’ he says pointing to the fridge.
He was right, really. It was a little work for me to put something together, but I think I managed to get pancakes and bacon ready for everyone. But, I was thinking how sometimes we get so wrapped up in the drama, the emotion and the woe is me mentality that we often miss the blessings that are right in front of us.
The good news is, like my 5-year old, perhaps we can gently remind each other when we need to hear simple truths: You are blessed. You are known. You are loved. You are cherished.
Friends, I hope you’ve found these reminders on Facebook with us this week. The top 5 are here. Like, comment on and share them with your friends!
