During his remaining time in Laos, President Obama said the US would spend $90 million over the next three years on clearing unexploded bombs that it dropped on Laos during the Vietnam War. An estimated 80 million of the baseball-sized cluster bombs — nearly a third of those dropped — failed to detonate.
