The dig-out and the flight cancellations continue-The fallout from this past weekend’s storm continues today. At least 546 of the day’s flights have been canceled, bringing the tally of canceled flights due to the massive storm that hit the East to 13,400. Meanwhile, millions of Americans will continue to dig out from the all the snow that fell. Adding to today’s complications: more showers are expected to hit the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Zika virus: Pregnant women advised to stay away from Rio 2016 Olympics– Women who think they may be pregnant in the weeks before travelling to the Olympics in Brazil later this year should consider abandoning their trip because of the risks posed by the Zika virus. Pregnant women are getting infected and the virus is going directly to the baby’s brain.
A lot of police activity around the Meydenbauer Apartments in Bellevue after fatal shooting and fire overnight. Residents say they heard gunshots then smelled smoke throughout the apartment complex. When crews got inside, they found an adult male with a fatal gunshot wound to his head. Police are calling the death suspicious and are working to find out more information. KOMO
