That’s the way I see Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is hope-filled because so many women are winning the battle more than ever before. We as a community are fighting for life!
The oncologists, scientists, researchers and fund raisers are all looking to find a cure. I have a personal relationship with breast cancer. It took my grandmother when she was only 52. I never had a chance to meet her because they caught it too late, technology was not so good back then.
My mom was diagnosed right after I had my second daughter. Thankfully through NEW technology (ultrasound) they caught it early and she is now cancer free. 1 out of 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime, that’s why it’s affecting so many people we love.
I just spoke with a listener the other day, Melody, who is getting ready to undergo a double mastectomy. I prayed with her over the phone and shared with her about my friend Carleen who just went through the same process.
I urge you to listen to my friend Carleen’s breast cancer journey. It isn’t just about having breast cancer and the importance of early detection, but a beautiful testimony of hope and redemption through our Ultimate Healer.
