The Navy yesterday joined the hunt for two Florida teens who disappeared while fishing in the Atlantic, expanding a sea and air search that has already covered an area the size of Indiana. Searchers found one personal flotation device in the water alongside the capsized boat of missing 14-year-olds Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos on Sunday. But additional Coast Guard and Navy operations throughout the night and into Monday morning haven’t yielded any additional signs of the boys.
Police swarmed a Milwaukee neighborhood last night after another person reported seeing what might be a lion. They’re calling it an unconfirmed lion sighting. It’s the same area where a police sergeant confirmed seeing what could be a large cat on Saturday. A search of the area has turned up nothing.
Wildfire outside Walla Walla is 50 percent contained–A wildfire that has burned nearly 10 square miles in southeast Washington is about 50 percent contained. The fire has burned one home and threatened dozens more. Investigators say the fire was human-caused. They’re still trying to determine if it was an accident or set on purpose. KOMO
