Chattanooga gunman reportedly blogged about Islam, showed increased signs of devotion– The man authorities say killed four U.S. Marines when he attacked two military sites in Chattanooga, Tenn. Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, 24, was shot and killed by police after he allegedly attacked the Marines at the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center at around 11 a.m.
A Japan hotel goes really high tech (and weird)–A robot receptionist will greet guests at Japan’s Henn na Hotel when it opens today. The property in Sasebo is using robots to perform a variety of functions including checking in guests, carrying luggage to rooms and making cups of coffee.
After 48 hours of instinct, tenacity, and following what she’d learned on TV survival shows, 16-year old Autumn Veatch walked out of the wilderness and to safety Monday afternoon.. . . the sole survivor of a plane crash in the North Cascade mountains of Washington State. ‘I couldn’t believe it. I thought I fell asleep and was having a nightmare. I felt that way for the next three days,’ Veatch said of the Saturday plane crash that killed her step-grandparents. ‘I was positive I was going to die, and then I was positive I was going to live.’
