In an effort to address stagnant wages, President Obama is expected to announce a new program called TechHire, during a speech today that will prepare more American workers for a growing number of technology jobs. The White House says it has obtained commitments from more than 300 employers as well as local governments in 20 regions of the country to train and hire workers for high-tech positions, which the White House says pay 50% more than the average American job.
Disappearing middle class jobs--Although the economy has regained all jobs lost since 2007, some occupations are shrinking. A lot of these jobs are disappearing because in part of the increased use of the Internet.
An 18-month-old girl survived a car crash in a frigid Utah river after being strapped in a car seat upside-down for some 14 hours before being found by a fisherman.
