Have you gotten your Christmas tree up yet?
We just did. And as I look at it today, I see the years like lines on my face. . .or the notches on the kids’ growth chart in their room.
No one looks at our tree like we do. In the lower left, I see our son, Quinn’s, stuffed pillow ornament a mom made from his preschool, with all the kids in his class, in the lower left. In the lower right, an ‘I Love Lucy’ ornament from my first staff Christmas party at SPIRIT 🙂 An ornament from my grandparents 12 years ago. Hand print’s I made with the kids three years ago. Ah, there’s my husband’s Law School ornament just above the little handprint. . .we’re still making payments on that little ornament 🙂
Our tree tells a story. Just like the tree–I believe God is telling us his story through our experiences and relationships. Through it all remember that God wants to be interwoven in your life like the Christmas lights in your tree.
I love this from Ann Voskcamp, ‘you’re wanted today, you’re remembered, you’re needed, you’re known, you’re liked, you’re loved, you’re looked for — and you’re looked after: ‘Really wise men & women never stop looking for God –and because your really wise God is love, He never stops looking for you.’
